Doggy day care & pet sitting in Thorney & Peterborough

Hi, I'm Ellie, the person behind Peas Paws LTD. Doggy day care is my lead service, opening at Lodge Farm Dog Park in Thorney at the end of the year, in 2026. You can register interest now; it isn't open yet and I'm not confirming day-care bookings. Alongside those plans, my dog walks, drop-ins and pet sitting are running now. Tell me about your animal and whether you're looking ahead to day care or need help today.
The name comes from my lovely dog Pea. She lives at home with her cheeky son Mouse and my Labrador Isla. My horses Silver and Rupert are part of my life too. Looking after my own animals means food, water, muddy days and noticing when something isn't quite usual. I bring that same attention to the pets I'm asked to care for.
Doggy day care comes first
I'm getting ready for doggy day care at Lodge Farm Dog Park, Crowland Rd, Thorney, Peterborough PE6 0PB. I'm opening at the end of the year, in 2026. It isn't open yet, and I'm taking interest rather than confirming places or a specific opening date. If you'd like to hear about it, send me a little about your dog. For help now, please ask about my existing walks, puppy visits and pet drop-ins.
Solo dog walks: a person to themselves
I offer one-to-one walks for dogs who are happier without a group, or whose routine calls for their own pace. Tell me what yours enjoys, what makes them uneasy and how you usually handle their lead. A slow sniff can be just as worthwhile as a more lively outing. I want to understand the individual dog, rather than assume their breed or age tells me everything.
Small group walks: company that fits
For dogs who enjoy walking with others, I offer small group walks. I consider temperament, confidence, energy and pace when looking at a match. Groups stay small so I can pay attention to the dogs, and compatibility matters more than filling a place. If a group doesn't sound comfortable for yours, we can talk about a solo walk instead. They don't have to fit in just because another dog enjoys it.
Puppy visits: the little breaks in the day
A puppy may need a toilet break, water checked, food as instructed and some company while you're out. My puppy visits can include gentle play and introductions that fit the routine you're already building. Tell me how you do things at home, including the words you use and where your puppy settles. These are care visits, not a promise of training results or a reason to rush them into longer walks.
Drop-in visits: the everyday jobs at home
Drop-ins can cover feeding, fresh water, litter care and letting your dog out, along with a little time for company. I'd like to know where supplies are kept and how you normally do each job. Medication needs should be discussed before a booking so I can confirm whether I can help with the instructions involved. I don't prescribe, change treatment or take the place of your vet.
Cats, small pets and holiday pet sitting
I offer cat and small pet care through visits at home. A cat who prefers to watch from a distance doesn't need to be persuaded into a cuddle. I can respect their space while getting on with their food, water and litter routine. For small pets, please describe their care in detail so we can agree the right jobs rather than assume every animal needs the same thing.
If you're going away on holiday, tell me your dates, the animals at home and the visits you need. My holiday pet sitting is arranged around agreed care visits; it isn't a promise of overnight stays or someone being there all day. We'll discuss access, instructions and how to contact you. Availability needs checking before you treat an enquiry as an arrangement.
Where I work
I cover Thorney, Crowland, Eye, Whittlesey, Peterborough, Deeping St James and Spalding. Your location helps me check the visits and times you're asking about, so please include it when you message. You might need regular dog walking, help on a particular day or pet sitting while you're away. We can talk through what you need and check availability rather than promise a time without looking at the diary.
How a walk works, and how you hear about it
Before agreeing a walk, I ask about your dog's routine, confidence around other dogs, equipment and any care instructions. You can tell me the awkward bits as well as the lovely ones. Once we've discussed what suits them, we can agree a solo walk or a compatible small group and talk through access to your home.
My walks are GPS-tracked, with photos and notes sent through the Pea's Paws app. You can see the outing and hear how your dog got on while you're elsewhere. If there's something you particularly want me to notice, mention it before the walk. I know those small updates can matter when you're trusting someone with your animal.
My experience and a first conversation
I'm DBS checked, first aid trained and fully insured, with over 20 years of pet care experience. I've also completed dog first aid and emergency canine care training. Those are the credentials I share on my own profiles. I still want your instructions: knowing what helps your particular animal is a different thing from assuming I already know them.
When you get in touch, tell me about your animal, your location, the dates or days you need and anything that deserves extra thought. We can work out whether walks, home visits or holiday cover make sense. There's no need to dress the message up. A plain description of life at home gives us a good place to start.
