Pet sitting and puppy visits in Thorney

Four dogs sitting and standing together on a wooden hurdle in a green field

Little puppies can need a bit of help between the times you're home. I'm Ellie, and I offer puppy visits in Thorney for toilet breaks, company and a little play while you're out. It isn't about asking a puppy to manage a grown-up dog's day. I'd like to know where yours is up to and the routine you're building together.

New puppies bring plenty of lovely moments, but fitting everything around work and other commitments can be tricky. You can tell me what needs doing without feeling you should already have it all sorted. We can discuss visits that support your usual care, rather than introduce a different set of expectations halfway through their day.

Keeping familiar things familiar

Tell me how you handle toilet breaks, where your puppy settles and the words you use with them. If there are household rules about food, play or getting on furniture, I'd like to know those too. Following the same approach helps keep my visit part of their normal day. I'm there to help with care and gentle introductions, not to promise training results.

Puppies don't all want the same amount of fuss. Some rush over for attention; others need a quieter moment before they're ready. I'll listen to what you tell me about your puppy and how they're settling in. If they're nervous, or something has changed since we last spoke, please mention it so we can talk through what might suit them.

The jobs that make a visit useful

A visit can include letting your puppy out as agreed, checking water, feeding according to your instructions and spending time with them. Please explain where food and supplies are kept, how much you normally give and any care needs I should know about. Medication instructions need a conversation beforehand, so neither of us is relying on a guess about what can be done.

If you're thinking about walks as well, we can talk about your puppy's current routine and what you're comfortable with. I offer solo and small group dog walking, but a visit at home may be the better starting point. My walks are GPS-tracked, with photos and notes sent through the Pea's Paws app. Walking and home visits are different kinds of help, and we can choose accordingly.

A chat before the first visit

I'm DBS checked, first aid trained and fully insured, with over 20 years of pet care experience. My training includes dog first aid and emergency canine care. I have Pea, Mouse and Isla at home, and I know how much there is to learn about an individual dog. I'd rather ask about your puppy's habits than assume they're like any of mine.

Send me your Thorney location, the days you're out and the sort of visits you need. I'll check availability before we agree anything. If there are cats or small pets at home, you can ask about their drop-ins too. My doggy day care at Lodge Farm Dog Park is coming soon, not open yet.

A few things you might be wondering

What can a puppy visit include?

We can agree toilet breaks, water checks, feeding, gentle play and company around your puppy's usual routine.

Do you offer puppy training?

My puppy visits are for care, company and gentle introductions. I don't promise training outcomes; tell me what you're doing at home so I can follow your approach.

Can I ask for visits on my working days?

Yes. Send me the days and times you need in Thorney and I'll check availability with you.

Does my puppy need a group walk?

No. We can discuss visits at home or a solo walk, depending on their routine and needs. A group isn't the default for every puppy.

Tell me about your little one

Let me know their routine, your Thorney location and when you'd like a visit. We can take it from there.
